    Age Concern

It´s great to welcome you all back to Spain. Happily you missed the sandstorms and the heavy rains. Out Town Halls have pulled out all the stops to ensure that your favourite resorts are as pristine as ever. We all know that a lot has changed in the world over the past two tears. Thankfully the pandemic is in retreat and the wearing of face-masks in shops etc is no longer mandatory. However if you believe your health makes you vulnerable you will still see many folk wearing a face covering. The war in Ukraine has got everyone talking and it´s no different here. Do check the local press if you wish to donate to help the humanitarian effort. Closer to home, well my home really, we have 4 local drop-in social centres waiting to welcome you. Sometimes the sun, sea. sand and of course the Sangria are just not enough. A friendly chat and a nice cuppa can make you feel right at home. It´s always a joy to talk to lovely people and every time you visit us there will be a warm welcome whether you are on holiday or a long term resident. So if you are 50 years “young” we´d love to see you during your time here.

If you are staying in Benalmadena we have temporarily re-located to Restaurant Chino Pekin in Bonanza Square. We meet on Mondays from 11 – 1.00 pm. Easy to find as it´s very central. Pop in and Angela, Marian and their lovely team will be happy to make you feel welcome. Holidaying in Mijas Pueblo one of our most famous white villages you will find a home from home in Tapas Bar Carmen, close to the bus terminal in the centre of the village. Jeff and his team look forward to welcoming you every Wednesday from 11 – 1.00 pm
Every Thursday we meet at the Pensionista in Los Boliches. You will find us next to the train station and above the indoor market, We are in the 1st floor. No worries there are two lifts that can accommodate wheelchairs. Keith and Company will offer you a warm welcome between 11 – 1.00 pm
On Fridays why not join us in La Cala at Bar Peña Flamenca Del Sur next to the Post Office which is a 5 minute stroll from the centre. David, Norman and Chrissie are your welcoming hosts

So no matter where you are on this part of the coast we are close to you. Have you forgotten something and don´t want to spend a fortune on holiday clothing then pop into our chop in Los Boliches (Calle Francisco Cano) We are open 6 days a week from 10.30 until 2.00 pm with extended hours until 6.00 on Wednesday, All items are selected for their quality and prices start at just 1 euro!!
If you have moved here permanently “Bienvenido” you’ll find life quite different . In fact you may decide you have a few hours a week to join us as a Volunteer. We have opportunities to suit every skill set and the time needed is minimal. Every role makes a real difference. If this could be you please contact our Information and Helpline on 652537615 weekdays from 10 – 4. We operate an after hours message service for your convenience. Everything you may want to know is just a call away.
Age Concern are here to help but regrettably we are NOT an Emergency service. For this you should dial 112 and ask for an English speaker
