Marenostrum Fuengirola started in 2016 as an open air festivals venue. They have great line of world renowned musical artists entertaining throughout the summer months from May to September. In the 2019, it was the venue chosen for the only stop in the EU on Jennifer López’s tour, but prestigious figures such as Ricky Martin, Bob Dylan, Sting, Alejandro Fernández, Santana or Manuel Carrasco, among many others have entertained to a packed audience too. Marenostrum stage is constructed in the grounds of Castillo Sohail. It is the Best Venue in Europe on the shores of the Mediterranean Sea a great natural backdrop of the skies with all the stars you can see. The castle grounds is the perfect venue for Marenostrum Fuengirola as an Asset of Cultural Interest for its archaeological remains dating from the Phoenician era, and with a privileged location on the beach. It is made up of two different spaces. The Sohail Castle, a medieval fortress from the 11th century with more than 1,000 years of history behind it, which has been transformed into an exclusive stage for concerts with a maximum capacity of 2,400 people standing in the past. And the hillside of the Castle where the main stage is located, which holds up to 18,000 spectators, with the Mediterranean Sea and the moon as a backdrop. On Sunday 5 June 2022 we attended the Simply Red Concert at Marenostrum Fuengirola. The concert was amazing and played to a packed audience. We have a few photographs to share with you from the evening. Simply Red performed their hit songs and the audience joined in singing along with Mick.
