Beach Bar Pili y Rafa is owned and run by Rafael and his son Manhattan, who have run the bar for many years and are well known to regular visitors. The bar is situated right on the paseo with great views over the beach and sea. They offer light meals and snacks including an excellent range of ice-cream sundaes, sandwiches, baguettes, range, and a variety of savoury and sweet crepes. They also serve waffles and famous churros . Best of all is their use of fresh fruit in everything from their crepes, milkshakes and a range of over 25 different cocktails, including some non-alcoholic ones and the best mojitos. All the cocktails are available in one litre cups to take to the beach where there are sunbeds for hire with waiter service! Their famous Sangria is made with seven different ingredients and we think it’s the best on the coast. Give it a try and let them know what you think! Excellent value are their “Plates”, which consist of fresh prawns, mussels, skewers, prawns pil pil etc. Their menu has a selection of meat, poultry and fish dishes. They really do have something for everyone, including 42 flavours of artisan ice cream, 80 different beers and a few ciders. In the bar they have now introduced a new section of Souvernirs – Specialising in Belgium beers boxed with a glass included, a range of spirits and Jack Daniels in different flavours. These unique items are only avaiable at Pili y Rafa in this area. The inside of the bar has been refurbished recently giving it a fresh new spacious look. They are open every day and serve breakfast from 10am.
At night time the well lit terrace is a great place to relax with a drink overlooking the sea.
To avoid people having to walk some distance for the nearest bank, they have installed an ATM machine at the bar and will even allow customers to re-charge mobility scooters whilst having a drink or something to eat. The bar is the first one on the paseo before the windmill roundabout. A great bar in a great location.
